John is a Senior Research Development Officer at the Office of Research, Innovation and Development (ORID) at the University of Ghana. He is currently the Administrator for both the Ethics Committee for Basic and Applied Sciences (ECBAS) and the UG Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (UG-IACUC).

Before assuming the above role, he was the Team Leader for the Publications, Dissemination and Translation (PDT) Team.

He joined the University in June 2012. Prior to his new role, he was responsible for ethics and research dissemination where he facilitated the establishment and coordination of various University of Ghana’s ethics committees. He was also the coordinator of the Development Research Uptake in Sub-Saharan Africa (DRUSSA) programme where he facilitated research uptake and utilisation activities at the University. John was also responsible for providing data to ranking agencies for the purposes of benchmarking and ranking of the University.

He graduated from the University of Ghana with a BA (Hons) in Linguistics and Philosophy (2000). He holds a joint MSc in Computing from the University of Liverpool and Liverpool Hope University. He holds another MSc in International Business & Emerging Markets from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. John also holds an MPhil in Science and Technology Studies from Stellenbosch University in South Africa. In addition, John holds a PhD in Development Studies from Nelson Mandela University in South Africa.

Before joining the University, John worked with several multinational organisations in the United Kingdom and Ghana.
