Overview

The Office of Research, Innovation and Development (ORID) is the research arm of the University of Ghana (UG), with a mandate to promote a vibrant research environment, develop strategic partnerships and advance science, innovation and technology.

Since 2010, ORID has driven the UG research enterprise, facilitating an influx of internal and external research funding and supporting researchers and multi-disciplinary research teams to achieve the University’s research goals focused in four areas, namely;

- Malaria Research

- Trans-disciplinary Research into Climate Change Adaptation

- Enhancing Food Production and Processing

- Development Policy and Poverty Monitoring and evaluation

In building partnerships in academia and industry, ORID seeks to accelerate the pace of innovation and technology in research and safeguard the impact of UG’s scholarship on communities and the environment for national development.
