ARTIFY aims to bridge the long-standing gap between artistic talent and commercial success. Training under the programme will hone creative abilities and nurture entrepreneurial acumen, providing young artists with the resources and knowledge for effective engagement with the public. This should also enable trainees curate their own exhibitions, build and sustain professional networks in the creative arts field.

The first cohort of trainees consists of eight artistically inclined individuals who will undergo an intensive tutelage covering entrepreneurship, intellectual property, and fine art techniques. Experienced lecturers from the University of Ghana and art tutors from the Nubuke Foundation will guide them in developing artistic skills and learn how to commercialize their creations.

Training kicked off with a tour on 2nd September 2024, of renowned art galleries in Accra, including the Nubuke Foundation, Berj Gallery, Noldor Artist Residency, and Artist Alliance. Trainees interacted with Ghanaian artists and gained exposure to various art styles and techniques. Participants were encouraged to study the works and careers of established and emerging artists, to draw inspiration from their journeys and learn the dynamics of art at the local and international level.

The programme will culminate in a grand public exhibition to be hosted by RID/UGBS which will run between November to December 2024. This event will be a platform for participants to engage with the public and solicit feedback from their audience and professional artists. The exhibition promises to be a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and growth, the start of a transformative journey for the participants.
