NANA OYE AKUFFO INDUCTED INTO SRAI’S DISTINGUISHED FACULTY

Nana Oye Akuffo, Senior Research Development Officer at the Research and Innovation Directorate assigned to the College of Health Sciences Grants Management Office, has been inducted as a member of the Distinguished Faculty of the Society of Research Administrators International (SRAI). This prestigious honour is the highest academic recognition within the field, celebrating individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and dedication to advancing the profession of research administration.

Nana Oye Akuffo's career has been marked by consistent excellence and a passion for fostering collaborations between institutions and researchers. Over the years, she has played a pivotal role in establishing sustainable research management practices, mentoring upcoming professionals, and contributing to the development of research infrastructure. Her work has strengthened the capacity of many research organizations.

Reflecting on this significant recognition, Nana Oye Akuffo expressed her deep gratitude and joy, noting that the induction into SRAI's Distinguished Faculty symbolizes the culmination of years of dedication.

"I am honoured and humbled to receive this award, which reflects the collective efforts of many individuals who have supported me on this journey. Research administration has always been more than a career for me—it is a calling to nurture scientific discovery, promote global collaboration, and empower others to excel."

Her aspiration, she shared, is to foster more inclusive and accessible research environments where institutions from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) can thrive. “This award encourages me to continue working towards equitable access to research opportunities, and I hope it inspires others to pursue excellence in this field,” she said.

The Distinguished Faculty of SRAI consists of highly accomplished professionals recognized for their knowledge and ability to mentor others, develop models for best practice, and lead transformative initiatives in research administration. Nana Oye Akuffo’s induction places her among a select group of professionals who shape the future of research management globally.
