CALL FOR PAPERS FOR THE 2018 EMERGING MARKETS CONFERENCE BOARD (EMCB) ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM

The Office of Research, Innovation and Development wishes to inform the University Community of the call for papers for the 2018 Emerging Markets Conference Board (EMCB) Annual Conference and Doctoral Consortium.

The Emerging Markets Conference Board is an international initiative for the development of marketing scholars in emerging markets, which is orchestrated by Prof Naresh Malhotra of the Sheller Business School at Georgia Tech. Prof Malhotra is perhaps the most influential marketing research scholar of all time (see http://b.gatech.edu/2yhNF04). He has brought into the initiative several leading international scholars, many of whom are current or recent editors of the leading marketing journals with the goal of advancing marketing scholarship in emerging markets.

The conference is nominally sponsored by most of the major international scholarly marketing associations.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Papers may be submitted until February 15, 2018, although submissions before this date will be appreciated. There are several types of submissions, which include submissions for poster sessions. The approach is developmental and nurturing. Papers that are not yet developed fully enough to present in the conference will not be rejected, but rather will be accepted for the poster sessions, which are well-attended by our international faculty.

Following the usual EMCB format, papers submitted will be considered for special issues or sections of leading journals that will be edited by Prof Malhotra and Prof Steve Burgess.

For further enquiries please contact Steve Burgess at Steve.Burgess@wits.ac.za.
