Research Fellowships in Humanities and Social Sciences - Wellcome, GB

The Office of Research, Innovation and Development (ORID) is pleased to inform the University community that Wellcome invites applications for its research fellowships in humanities and social science. These enable postdoctoral researchers in health-related humanities and social sciences to carry out an extended period of independent research.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants should be postdoctoral researchers based at an eligible institution in the UK, Republic of Ireland or a low- or middle-income country, with the exception of mainland China, but must not have a permanent contract or a contract that lasts longer than the fellowship.
Candidates must have a sponsor from an eligible host organisation that will administer the fellowship for the full duration of the award.
They must also have a supervisor or mentor to provide support and advice.
In most cases, applicants should have been awarded a PhD before they apply.

Coverage of Award

Fellowships are usually worth up to £275,000 each for up to three years and provide a basic salary, research expenses and personal removal expenses.

Preliminary Applications must be submitted through the Wellcome Trust Grant Tracker (WTGT).
