NRF-SASAC Doctoral Scholarship Call for 2025

The Office of Research, Innovation and Development (ORID) is pleased to inform the University community that The South African National Research Foundation (NRF), in partnership with the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), and the British Council through the International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF)  is pleased to announce a Call for NRF-SASAC doctoral scholarship for 2025 (refer to the attached).

In 2022, IIASA increased its membership footprint through, the Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Member Organization, as part of a regional approach to participation in IIASA research and capacity building activities. The new Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Member Organization (SSARMO)) includes South Africa and 17 other African countries who are participating in the Science Granting Councils Initiative (SGCI) in Sub-Saharan Africa. SSARMO is implemented through the Sub-Saharan African Systems Analysis Centre (SASAC), which among others will provide training opportunities for candidates based in SGCI member countries.
