Professor George Obeng Adjei
Director of Research

Professor George Obeng Adjei holds an MD degree from the Medical University of Gdansk, Poland, and a PhD from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. He is a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology; his field of expertise is Paediatric Clinical Pharmacology.His research interests include, clinical trials, antimicrobial therapeutics, disease-drug interactions between communicable and non-communicable disease, emerging infectious pathogens, and ethics of clinical research in childhood populations.

His scholarly publications have focused on, pathogenesis of severe malaria in children, clinical pharmacology of antimalarials, chemotherapy of malaria in the setting of chronic disease (e.g., (sickle cell disease), and neonatal therapeutics. He is the immediate-past Director of the Centre for Tropical Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, School of Medicine and Dentistry.
