Call for Proposals: Strengthening Higher Agriculture Education for Agri-Food System Transformation in Africa (SHAEA)

The World Bank Group (WBG) and the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM), in collaboration with the Governments of Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, and Mozambique have jointly launched a Call for Proposals for the Strengthening Higher Agricultural Education for Agri-food Systems Transformation in Africa (SHAEA) Regional Project. The attached document provides information on the objectives and thematic areas of the Call as well as eligibility criteria and the evaluation process.

 

The University of Ghana has been invited to submit only one proposal and therefore an institutional selection process has been put in place as follows:

Step 1: Interested and eligible research groups must express their interest by completing the attached Notice of Intent form and submit to ORID via email at orid-researchadmin@ug.edu.gh by Friday 19th October, 2018.

Step 2: ORID invites applicants from research groups who have submitted Notices of Intent to a meeting (tentatively scheduled for Tuesday 24th October, 2018) to discuss their ideas for a project. Submission of concept papers for institutional review will follow. Shortlisted concepts will be invited to submit full proposals.
Step 3: Full proposals submitted to ORID for an internal competition by 20th November, 2018.
Step 4: Feedback from review to be provided by 27th November, 2018.
Step 5: Confirmation of UG proposal to be submitted on/before 29th November, 2018.

Step 6: Submission of selected proposal to funder on/before 30th November, 2018.

 

Prospective applicants should take into consideration that as part of the institutional processes described above, they may be requested to make amendments to their proposals to conform with UG policy and the goals of this opportunity.
