BROMKAMP ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP (2017-2018)

The Office of Research, Innovation and Development is pleased to announce the “Call for Applications for the Bromkamp Endowment Scholarship 2017-2018”. The Bromkamp Endowment has since 2003 offered scholarships to UG graduate students in economics related disciplines, and continues to target graduate students enrolled on MPhil programmes in the same disciplines. The Scholarship was instituted by Dr. Joachim Bromkamp who was the Honorary Consul of Ghana at the Stifterverband in Germany. Each year, up to three (3) high performing graduate students who have indicated their commitment to pursue an academic career are selected to receive awards. In line with this, ORID wishes to inform eligible MPhil Year 1 students to submit applications to compete for the 2017-2018 cohorts of awards.

ELIGIBLE DEPARTMENTS
Applications must be from any one of the following Departments:

  • Department of Finance
  • Department of Accounting
  • Department of Economics
  • Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness

SELECTION CRITERIA
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Should have obtained their first degree from the University of Ghana; with a GPA of at least 3.00;
  2. Be a Ghanaian national and enrolled in Year 1 of an eligible MPhil programme at the University of Ghana;
  3. Demonstrate potential, interest and commitment to pursue an academic career;
  4. Demonstrate the ability to conduct high quality research work.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Application forms can be downloaded from here and submitted with the underlisted documents:

  • Curriculum Vitae;
  • A summary of the proposed research the applicant intends to conduct while enrolled on the programme (maximum 5 pages). This should clearly outline the background, objectives, scope and proposed methodology;
  • Budget and Work/Implementation Plan on separate sheets;
  • Academic transcript and a copy of the undergraduate degree certificate;
  • Proof of current registration; and
  • Copy of admission letter
