The 10th Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Intellectual Festival
The Office of Research, Innovation and Development wishes to inform the University community of the 10th Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Intellectual Festival being organized by the University of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
This year’s programme is themed: "The Second Scramble for Africa: The Quest for Socio-Economic Liberation of the Majority Poor". Keynote speakers are expected from several African countries including South Africa, West Africa, Europe and Asia.
Sub themes:
- Africa’s natural resources and the fate of the poor in Africa
- Africa’s natural resources for people-centered development: dream or reality?
- Democracy in Africa and the empowerment of the poor for control of the continent’s natural resources
- Africa’s cultural identity, self-determination and socio-economic liberation of the poor
- Gender equality struggles in the context of the poor and the for Africa’s natural resources
